Frequently Asked Questions

Q-
What is the Formadose?
A-
Essentially the Formadose is a dosing device. Therefore, it can be used if necessary, mixing of different liquids in different dosages. Please contact us for advice if the Formadose is suitable your application.

Q-
What is the common use of the Formadose?
A-
Formadose is widely used to prepare 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin (NBF), where it is used intensively in pathology laboratories and operating rooms.

Q-
Can the Formadose deliver mixture in different concentration such as 4%?
A-
Absolutely it can. The instrument has two different protocols regarding preparation of Neutral Buffered Formalin (NBF).
    1. Standard Protocol (Factory default): If it is selected by user, the instrument will prepare 10% NBF automatically. In this protocol only thing that user should do is to define how much solution needed.
    2. User Defined Protocol: This protocol gives an absolute flexibility to the user. He/she can prepare in any concentration of NBF.
Q-
Do we have to place the Formadose into the same room where Grossing Stations already installed?
A-
No. It is not mandatory to place the Formadose into the same room with Grossing Stations. It can be placed different rooms or even be on different floors. The critical point here, the layout plan must be set for the technical properties of the pump of the Formadose.

Q-
How many faucets can be supplied at the same time?
A-
Obviously these numbers depend on the project. In order to give an answer we should know some informations such as:
  1. Quantities of grossing stations
  2. Lenghts of the pipes
  3. Layout of the pipes (vertical and horizontal lengths)

Q-
Is it possible to monitor the pH of the mixture?
A-
Yes. There is an integrated pH meter in order to do that.

Q-
How can I add the salts for buffer process, solid or liquid form?
A-
In fact, both option is possible. This option can be defined on the setup menu. Which option is selected by user, it is saved by the software and the instrument use this option until any change by user.
